Drowning is the leading cause of unintentional death in children ages 1-4.

An estimated 370,000 people drown worldwide each year. Children under 5 years of age account for 25% of these deaths. Estimated that is 92,500 children ‘only’ under the age of 5.

Water can often bring so many families together, but it can also rip them apart. We all know water can be dangerous, were extra cautious at beaches but a large portion of that 25% is at home!! I for one, did not know these statistics as i’m sure many don't . One of our many goals with Biancas Legacy is to help spread awareness around this information so we can all be more cautious.

Some may be wondering what made me think to start something like this? Well, after my daughter Bianca passed, I was given information on a company that offers free pool fencing for families affected by drownings & while that’s amazing, I couldn't help but wonder … why is this option not available prior to help PREVENT.

When one looses a child in this way, you think of all the ways you could have helped prevent it. Now, that’s not to say this wouldn’t have still happened BUT if these resources can possibly help others…why not?
